Creighton GSG Presidency

I'm excited to be the new president-elect for Creighton Graduate Student Government. My team and I will get to serve the graduate students of Creighton University, advocate for the issues that matter to them, and organize awesome events to inspire, entertain, relax and educate them through the end of 2022.

Some of my first initiatives include:

Securing a permanent office for GSG on the Omaha campus.
Creating an award to recognize and celebrate outgoing board members for their leadership and for their service to the organization, to the school and to the students community.
Creating an external website for GSG: www.creightongsg.com.
Revamping our social media presence.

A few activities

Orientation of new GSG executives: 10 Dec 2021

With both members of the 2021 board and the 2022 board in attendance, around great food at Bone Fish Grill Omaha, on the night of the first snow of the year.

Presentation of leadership awards to the members of the outgoing board: Yolanda, Dallys, Jon, Vaughn, Brian, Curt, Driko, Laura, Taunya.

We covered the cost of the reception dinner for graduating students after the hooding ceremony on December 9th, 2021

We took a group of about 20 students to watch Hamilton the Broadway Show

by Lin-Manuel Miranda at the Orpheum Theater in Omaha.

We organized a dinner at Upstream Brewery/Restaurant in Omaha for Health and Wellness students who were visiting Omaha for the first time from around the country for a residency.

We gave the opportunity to more than 70 graduate students and their families (4 tickets per student) to go to Vala's Pumpkin Patch to have fun outdoors.

We attended and contributed to the success of the annual banquet of the International Students Association (ISA) in the Harper Center ballroom. 120 students, faculty and friends of Creighton were in attendance. Many officers of GSG have an international background and are active members of ISA. Some of them played a key role in the success of the event. For instance Susmit and Rutuja had some amazing performances that night.
